I am in the process of obtaining Chilean citizenship. For various reasons, including rules relating to my existing nationality, the exact date that I will (hopefully) become a citizen matters. So my question to others who have done this before: The date that citizenship is confered will be printed on the decree one receives at the end of the process, correct? And this date will be some time after one has paid the corresponding fees and sent in the permanent residency certificate, correct? I just need to make sure that I don't accidentally become a Chilean citizen before having paid the fee (for example because citizenship is confered retroactively or some such thing).
