By the way landed at SCL the other day, and noticed a hanger where they appeared to be washing the LAW airline jets. Like they were planning to go somewhere.

So, seems the left in congress is pushing through a law to stop the goverment from being able to deport anyone.

They are basing it on a bullshit interpretation a u.n. of human rights convention chile signed. No country in the world would have signed a convention that took away the soverign right to define who is in your territory; but, the left is going to give it a try.

Effectivly it would negate all immigration laws. All you have to do is make it across the line, and the goverment would be stuck with you.

What baffles me is the political sucide pact the left seems to have entered over migration. The polls show their own voters are sick of the migration mess the last administration made, but they just keep doubling down on it. Not just doubling down in migration issues, but it seems to be at the expense of almost every other major issue.

Is this the convention you had in mind? :
After more than a year of discussions, the Global Compact For Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration was approved by 192 members of the United Nations in New York on Friday.
It seems that the *no country in the world* is only the US:
All United Nations members — except the United States — have committed to a compact for safe migration. It is the first global document to tackle the issue and reduce human smuggling and trafficking.

It does not, in anyway shape or form, say or imply that a country gives up the right to say who and who can not enter or remain in their territory; nor the right of a country to create regulations and procedures to enter the country (that is exactly what it was intended to do ). Especially people that enter illegaly.

The left are trying expand the definition of "refugees" to include everyone that steps across the boarder.

Someone with a truck load of cocain is just as protected as a syrian with a legit refugee claim.

The haitens, venzueleans, and whonever else is currently in the country illegally, is really really here illegally. They have been given way more than one opertunity to obtain residency, starting with day they entered the country (not like chile's current immigratiin law was being enforced under bachelet), and everyday since until the deadline to file for amenesity expired. All they had to do was file.

If they are still here, they are up to no good. Throw them out!!!
