Address confirmation

Post by Space Cat » Tue Nov 14, 2017 1:31 pm

Online financial and other services often request some utility bill or a document from the government to confirm the address. But my utility bills have my landlord's name.

What's a good place to quickly get some fancy government paper with a stamp and my address on them? PDI or Extranjería come to mind but what kind of paper to request to not confuse them?

Your closest police station should be able to do an address verification.

The pretty lame answer according to ChileAtiende is your friendly local junta de vecinos (if you can find it, that is.)
Police don't do that any more, not according to this anyway.

Thanks for the link, there's the tab "Certificado para extranjeros" which leads to a page about getting a certificate in PDI:

Even your cell phone? Sometimes they accept a notarized rental contract.

Hm, I don't have cell phone bills on Virgin.

Got redirected to a notary from the civil registry. :\

I also asked in PDI just because we were passing by and they also said that I should go to a notary or to junta de vecinos.

SC,

What about a scan of your address on a bank statement? I just used that from Banco Estado to prove to LA County that I can't serve as a juror there.
Generally, just a SPAM KILLER. You are on your own in this forum. My personal mission here is done.

BUT when necessary, by way of ridicule and truth revelation we shalt do war.

Should be good for most places, but International Brokers accept this kind of documents only from banks from the countries who are members of FATF. Chile is not for some reason but I will try.
