Re: chile's migration crisis

We're even seeing "wet leprosy" in the US because of this uncontrolled flood. But I guess I'm racist for speaking up about it. Do you have any reference? I don't see anything about cases of "wet leprosy". About leprosy, or Hansen's disease: Hansen's Disease (Leprosy) With early diagnosis and treatm...

Re: DataChile.io – public country data, visualized

I gave you a link to the author's reply about the source right in the quoted message. And yes, I translated "promedio" incorrectly, but I'm going to stop replying to your constant nitpicking because it's annoying and time-wasting. Do you understand how sources should be quoted? To say that he got i...

Where? He offers a description of 'salario promedio, but it does not show the source of the data.

'Salario promedio' would translate as 'Average salary', not 'Median salary'.

Re: DataChile.io – public country data, visualized

I checked 17-56 and I couldn't find. Are the Median salary numbers per person or per household? Per person, he occasionally posts these charts on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/chile/comments/7p4190/comunas_del_gran_santiago_por_ingreso_promedio/dsex0r7/ Actually it seems that he is using the 'me...

I noticed it too, but unfortunately it is a very common way to see the world from the northern part of the Americas.

Re: DataChile.io – public country data, visualized

On the data about 'Trusting the church', it is not clear what those numbers represent. Are those the people that trust 'a lot', or both 'a lot' and also 'some'? How much is some?

The text directly above and below the image posted by 'bobserb'. In the table below, we rank the foreign countries in which the most Americans were killed between 2009 and 2016. Before ranking, we filtered the data to include only homicides, executions, deaths in terrorist attacks, and drug-related ...

Re: Homologacion de celulares

Are there any comparisons, in those forums, between Chile and other countries that have implemented the new requirement? No, not so far. That link refers to the stealing of phones not the import of stolen or illegal phones. There are already ways to register a locally bought phone here and the imei...

Re: Homologacion de celulares

I wonder if this has anything to do with Bachelet's flooding Chile with unskilled Haitians. The problem with the traffic of stolen cell phones goes back a number of years, and I understand that other countries are more affected than Chile. Peru is one of them. El más reciente reporte de seguridad c...

Re: Homologacion de celulares

It would be better if it were actually easy to register the phone. One of the items you need to provide is proof of purchase. Not every tourist can provide that. It can take 24 hours or a week or never happen. Some tourists give up and buy a local phone or just give up and curse Chile. There are se...

Re: Homologacion de celulares

I imagine that's the excuse, but how will "homologating" the phone in this boondoggle work any better than actually using the phone in the network, where the IMEI is known and can be compared to a blacklist during normal operation? How will "homologating" a phone brought from outside Chile prove an...
