Rain

Where do you live and when was the last time it rained? I'm not counting a few drops or a bit of very light drizzle, I mean proper rain i.e. that would actually get you wet and you would need to get an umbrella out if you had one, and it would last for more than 2 minutes. Here in the south of the R...

I dont usually watch this type of movie, but I finally got round to it this evening.
How did you get the movie? E.g. is it on Netflix, cable TV, you purchased it online somewhere?

Re: Opening up a Santander bank account

Transferring is not usually the way to go as far as I know - I think the banks in each country operate fairly separately. This is based on a bit of personal experience and guesswork but not much. To get with the banks in Chile I think you need some evidence of in-country activity especially earning ...

Re: Zero Waste in Chile

Well environmentally speaking the best is not to buy something in the first place, failing that at least re-use, failing that at least recycling is better than landfill. Recycling something is better than landfill because although it does use a fair amount of energy and resource I think it's usually...

Re: Zero Waste in Chile

Found this old thread from 2008 about recycling in Chile: https://www.allchile.net/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1484 Very interesting to see how much things changed in 10 years. Also, some of the posts of 2008 were quite wise, almost prophetic, in their expectations of what would happen in the future. I saw...

Re: Zero Waste in Chile

Interesting comments about the volcano, I didn't see those last comments in December. I've had my fair share over the years of arguing with guides (not in Chile) when I want to go to the summit and they usually want to go back. Anyway, I came back to this old thread to reply to the point about the p...

Re: Why are you there?

Hm. Definately visit first before living here, even for remote workers. Exception might be people with no kids and few possessions and some savings that can easily leave.

Re: cranberry juice

Well I opened and ate the packet or red fruits. they were all red in this particular case. I actually stopped by the side of the road a week or two ago and found some blackberries growing and ate a ton of them under the shade of a tree watching the stream go past. I could have almost imagined myself...

Re: ATM fee

US issued Visa/Plus card ScotiaBank ATM in Constitucion - $3,500 fee Max withdrawal amount of $200,000 Before this post I think most or all reported no charges at Scotiabank. Scotiabank is the go to no charge ATM because virtually all the others charge apart from a few small banks that are not very...

Re: Why are you there?

I don't see the request for people to tell their stories is an unreasonable request for personal info, it's an open forum, anyone can share experiences or decide they'd prefer not to. So I thought the "amber light" was a bit on the harsh side. For me, I can say I came back to Chile because it was wh...

Re: cranberry juice

I was in Jumbo today at the Mall Plaza Sur (heading out of Santiago on Ruta 5) found cranberry juice - Jugo de Cranberry. 1.89L for 3399 pesos. They also had one mixing cranberry and orange juice. I also found 2 different packets of cranberries. One just saying "Cranberries" and the other saying "Ar...
