Re: First time in Santiago

Hi Izabella, Welcome to the forum! You´re right, Santiago is a pretty safe place, so you don´t need to be afraid to travel alone here. Lastarria is a nice neighbourhood and there are lots of things to do there: On the one hand, you are very close to tourist attractions like the Santa Lucía or San Cr...

Re: Biking Cerro San Cristóbal

I ride up the cerro periodically, but seldom make time during the week to do so. Perhaps I should! Like when it gets warmer. All this time living in Chile has made me weak in the face of cold! That´s exactly why I would love to have a group of cobikers to go with, because on my own it´s sooo diffic...

Re: Riots continue

Sort of like Camila's insistence that none of those arrested for throwing fire-bombs are students.
Mmm, thought I clarified this one before. Anyways, you calling me Camila honours me, not the worst thing being compared with an eloquent and courageous student leader:-)

Re: Riots continue

The mother of two of his three admitted children, on the other hand, is a concejal for the comuna of Maipú, and has a significant financial interest in a company whose charter is the development of for-profit preschools, primary and secondary schools, and trade-technical schools which receive a gre...

Re: Riots continue

And yes, they were students. Some of the arrested students were 14 years old. Patagoniax, you´re right. Indeed I expressed myself quite poorly here. When I referred before to "some criminal teenagers", of course those teenagers are students. Especially the 14-year-old ones, what else could they be ...

Re: Biking Cerro San Cristóbal

That´s exactly what I´m planning on start doing, going up there 2-3 times a week. Where do you live now that you stopped going to the San Cristóbal?

P.S.: Sometimes there are even whole dog gangs, 10 or more dogs looking at you as if they considered assaulting you. :-)

Re: Riots continue

Well Patagoniax, I already responded to all above before (questionable prohibitions of demonstrations, etc), so I really feel we are moving in circles. Let me just add that you are criticizing me of exaggerating the police violence and you do the very same thing, pretending that Chile is some crisis...

Re: Riots continue

Participation is provocation.
Why? Demonstrations are provocations? Not in my opinion.

Re: Riots continue

Patagoniax, other impressive images of rioting students. Wow. But it gets kind of boring, don´t you think? So you doubt that there was police brutality at all? Curious, especially since most of the international media were reporting about it. While there might not have been many injured students, 84...

Re: Riots continue

Zeronz, by the way, since you are so eager to teach me about discussion culture, I actually went back to revise the great fact-based arguments you contributed to this discussion since I joined it. They are: - private property was smashed up, stones were being thrown at cars - businesses lost money -...
