I don't see Chile being any further ahead in the next ten years than they are now. I doubt most have even given it a thought. Yes, as Andres has stated Alvi is really the only one I have ever seen.

Doesn't really compare to a Costco or Sam's club. But it's good if your looking to buy stuff like sugar, salt, canned food, chocolates etc.. in bulk.

I also resent poorer neighbourhoods being called shitty, they are what they are, only a very small parts of Santiago I wouldn't enter at all, but those areas caribinero don't go with out being prepared.
