Chilean Holidays and Bonuses

Formally under a Churches, Faith and Religion post by Patigoniax, I took it upon myself to start a separate thread focused on two items: 1) What holidays are required for workers to be paid/off and 2) What are the traditional times and amounts to pay bonuses to workers. I know this has been covered ...

Re: Limits to World Growth, 2030 collapse, and Chile

Wars to secure resources are almost a certainty in the next forty years. (Some argue that Iraq 1 and 2 were primarily motivated by resources.) My greatest concern is that one or more of the wars will go nuclear. Iraq was because Saddy wanted gold for oil instead of paper. War cant reduce population...

Re: Victim of TSA badged flight attendants

Second letter and another averted response by AA: Dear AA, Thank you for your response regarding this incident; however, given my interactions with the AA staff in the Santiago airport, I believe it fails to explain to me why I was deplaned. Perhaps it would be better for me to ask a few questions ...

Re: Chilean beef

Am I the only person that finds Kobe beef disgusting? Marbled schmarbled. I loves me beef, but I'd just as soon eat a hotdog than a Kobe steak.

Re: Apple, peach, or any other fruit wood.

I used grape wood this past weekend and although you can smoke with it, it is really reserved for beef or fowl. I tend to smoke more pork than anything. I just bought a quarter rick of seasoned grape wood for 500 pesos over near lampa so no problem getting it. Why not pork with grape wood? Does it ...

Re: Apple, peach, or any other fruit wood.

Yo El Pescado, I just scored some olive tree wood and it's supposed to be as close to mesquite as you can get. Tex plans to be here in La Serena April 6-8, so I'll send a sack back with him and a few sticks of peach wood, too. Put it towards all the "paying it forward" you did for me. A small dent I...
