Re: Returning to Chile after Prorroga

Thanks for the response guys! I'm wondering, you said "tramite at the Policia Internacional (certificado de vigencia)" --- is that a tramite I need to do as soon as I get back into the country? I spoke to the consulate and they said all I had to do was land in the country and renew my carnet as soon...

Returning to Chile after Prorroga

Hi all, I will be returning to Chile after having received 4 prorrogas. I know this issue has ALOT of threads on here but I have a bit of a unique question. Every time I received a prorroga from the consulate, they would give me a physical letter (certifado de prorroga) AND they would put an officia...

Need to rent apartment or room for 1 month! Coming from US, 38/f professional - Lived in Chile Previously*

Hi everyone! I used to live in Providencia and was wondering if anyone has an apartment or a room to rent for 1 month? I'll be there from mid-october to mid-november. I'll be there to take care of tramites regarding my residency and business, etc. I really need to be near a metro stop and would real...

Re: FBAR question - additional person on Chilean's checking account?

@admin: I totally understand and agree that there are far more parameters to consider whether or how to file one's FBAR. I can only give insight on my particular situation for anyone that might have a similar situation, etc. That being said, what you said is absolutely true. The FBAR is inclusive of...

Re: FBAR question - additional person on Chilean's checking account?

Hey everyone, Just wanted to follow up on this. I called the official FBAR authority 4 different times and 3 of the 4 reps. all said the same thing. If you are an additional card holder on someone else's bank account in a foreign country (whether that person is a foreign national or not and whether ...

FBAR question - additional person on Chilean's checking account?

Hi everyone, It's been a long-time, so first a grand hello to everyone! Here's my question: I recently found out about FBAR. Since I literally found out last Friday, all I can do from this point forward is gather up every single statement from every account from 2009 and forward and check to see if ...

Re: another DICOM question!

The only ones that do it are American Credit card companies and bill collectors. I once had an attorney in the U.S. call me about the possibility of starting a collection action against a Chilean national, that use to live in the United States, that ran up a big credit card bill in the United State...

Re: another DICOM question!

Thanks everyone for the input! @Admin: What has been your experience with your clients and things you've heard about during your time in Chile about creditors calling people's places of work? Everyone, there's been an update! Falabella said: - you have 30 days to pay the remainder of the minimo that...
