Re: Toyota or Dodge Service in Chile

I had a 4Runner in Chile for 2 years and was extremely happy with the vehicle itself. Servicing was another story. The Toyota dealership in Copiapo was next to useless. I had it serviced once when in Temuco and that was a slightly happier experience. Somewhat related, my partner had a Peugeot and th...

Re: Cycling in Chile

In my travels around Chile (2010-2012), seeing cyclists on the roads was not common. You'd see a few individuals here and there, and the occasional small group, but that's it. Can't recall seeing a group of more than 10. The most I ever saw were in the Pucon area. My thoughts on your initial questio...

Re: Chile finds its voice in The Clinic satirical magazine

I liked it because of the frequent lampooning of political figures in Chile. There needs to be far more of that going!

The Clinic Bar is also quite good!

Re: Who is on strike.. who is not!

Remember that there are two types of strikes - paro's and huelga's. For lack of better words/understanding, one is illegal and the other is legal? Anyone care to comment on what they understand the difference to be? Googling doesn't help much with the usage of the words in Chile.

Re: Fish & Chip shop ... Just an idea but

You're confusing dim sum and dim sim... Wikipedia - a dim sim is a Chinese-inspired meat dumpling-style snack food popular in Australia. The dish normally consists of a lump of pork or lamb, cabbage and flavourings, encased in a wrapper similar to that of a traditional shumai dumpling. They may be d...

Re: Questions for Upcoming Trip

FWIW, I've rented cars from Econorent in Temuco (via internet) on several occasions and have never had a problem. We had lunch in Cafe/Bar 2001 in Villarica (Camilo Henriquez 379) around 6 weeks ago. La Chilena insisted we got there for a completo, having long been a favourite of hers. La Chilenita ...

Re: Fish & Chip shop ... Just an idea but

Late to the party, but my 2c; - Decent fish AND chips would be fantastic to find in Chile. The soggy things that get passed off as chips around the place are terrible. - My chilenas are loving the fish and chips here in Oz. Very little interest from them in having their fish grilled. They want decen...
