Re: PDI cracking down on animal abuse

Great news :) My question is what is considered abuse here in Chile ? I'm almost positive what I would see as an abusive situation may be viewed as acceptable here. Example : living conditions, there are 2 dogs that are chained up behind some stands in a very small enclosure without much shade. I'm ...

Re: Stuck here in chile

I am still here in Quilpue I only went to the ranch a couple of times and it was 2 of the best times I have had here. Unfortunately there are no busses that can get me close enough and I do not have a car to get back out there. Leaving the property unattended for long periods is not really safe anym...

Re: Stuck here in chile

Lol I'm still here. There have been a few great people :) Gloria that have given me positive advice. I'm only here because of my dogs and now that the oldest has cancer that is spreading I spend my time taking care of him. If I could win a ticket for me and the dogs to go back Home I would in a hear...

Re: The mayor of Quilpue has given the go ahead to kilstreet

There is a possibility that marching/protesting might lead to awareness? Possibly eyes on Chile's dirty laundry issue of allowing a third-world animal situation to continue in a country which very much wants to be seen as progressive and civilized. Culling dogs is not a long-term solution, and unti...

Re: The mayor of Quilpue has given the go ahead to kilstreet

But, do the spaying and neutering of street dogs really prevent the 30 000 plus cases of humans being bitten by wild dogs? And the number of abandoned dogs, the official number, is simply incredible (2 500 000). Is a first step and doing anything to solve the problem instead of killing them off and...

There will be a March tomorrow at 12:00 starting in the plaza across from the train station. Looks like there may be 1000 or more people.

The greatness of a society and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals.

Re: The mayor of Quilpue has given the go ahead to kilstreet

I would wait the 10 days required after they vaccinated them and see if this was a one time random thing. Then I would hold free classes to educate families wanting to adopt, also I would educate people on the importance of spaying and neutering. It seems that after only 1 confirmed case 2 weeks ago...

Re: The mayor of Quilpue has given the go ahead to kilstreet

I agree it's the people's fault. They give puppies away every weekend to uneducated people who end up throwing them back on the streets after 6 months because the dog got too big,dug up the garden, whatever. I'm pissed because I don't think killing them off is the way to solve this problem.
