Re: Organic Milk?

Sorry for highjacking the thread a little bit, but does anybody know if it is possible to buy pasteurised milk? The kind sold in supermarkets in most western (or at least north western countries), that needs to be chilled and has a shelf life of approx. 7-14 days? All I kind find in Chile is the UHT...

Re: Real Estate Trends in Chile

I am not considering buying at the moment, but I find it curious that RE price developments are not covered in mainstream media in Chile. I think that stats can be helpful in getting a feel for the market and to understand the general developments. When actually buying, I do agree that they do not h...

Re: Real Estate Trends in Chile

Ahem - I guess I should have spent some more time on portalinmobiliario before commenting on it. I stand corrected, even though it seems that most of the stats that they reveal are based on the searches carried out by the users. I would still love to see a m2 price indicator of houses / apartments i...

Re: Real Estate Trends in Chile

to "Real State" - I would greatly appreciate links to sites that contain information on the real estate trends. I am sure that the majority of the readers of this trend would find it interesting as well, so please add them if possible, or send them to me in a PM. I can understand that apparently the...

Re: Real Estate Trends in Chile

As a newcomer to Santiago (been here for about 4 months), the lack of media coverage of real estate trends is difficult to understand. I regularly read La Tercera and occasionally Mercurio. I watch the national news on TV a couple of times a week, and check a variety of websites, but I never seem to...

Re: Chile is Expensive!!!

Comparing costs of living is always tricky if not impossible. When I compare Santiago to Copenhagen, Denmark, I can assure you that Santiago comes out on top pretty much across the board (except electronics). More importantly, the savings in big expenses such as real estate (buying or renting), cars...

Re: My experience getting a Driver's License

Went to Vitacura municipalidad today to inquire about obtaining a Chilean drivers license. Here the requisites are as follows: 2.- Postulantes Extranjeros: Requisitos: Cédula de Identidad Nacional para extranjeros vigente. Acreditar enseñanza básica. Exámenes: Sicométrico, Sensométrico, Teórico y Pr...

Re: Tax on foreign income as EU national?

Thanks a lot for the link Rune - that was exactly what I was looking for. I am perfectly fine with reading Spanish, but when it comes to legal matters, I struggle. Admin: Thanks for your detailed answer. My attorney is supposedly an expert in chilean & international matters (and came highly recommen...

Re: Tax on foreign income as EU national?

Bump... Please let me know whether the reason for lack of replies is because the question raised infringes on the Admin's business? That is by no means my intention. If it is because the question has already been answered, then I would greatly appreciate if somebody could link to the applicable thre...

Tax on foreign income as EU national?

Hello All, Thanks for a great forum. I have spent a lot of time looking through various threads (and learned about fresh milk, driver's license, and much more :-)) searching for information on my specific situation, but I have not been able to locate it. If it has already been answered, then please ...
