Flatfish (lenguado) in Chile

So I went to Jumbo today, as it's Semana Santa and there's always discount on seafood (fresh) and frozen shrimps. Anyway, I saw the largest flatfish I've ever seen here. After some "google-ing" I think it's TURBOT as they say that Chile does have it farmed. It looks exactly like http://en.wikipedia....

Re: Got Bagels?

I am reviving this thread, Where can you find good bagels in Santiago?! I tried to search for Chile Bagels on Facebook with no luck.
With all the blueberries that we've here, I'd love to get some blueberry bagels :)
Hate to have to try to home-make these.
thanks!

Re: Vietnamese food in Santiago

Gringo Pillo, as for asians, their/our main food is rice, there exists LOTS of different variates. Maybe you could go to Patronato and check out the Korean and Chinese minimarket :) Someone also mentioned somewhere in the forum about Indian grocery store.

Re: Vietnamese food in Santiago

After reading this review a couple of days ago, I've decided to give it a try. As entree, we had this rice-crepe wrap with shrimp, pork, fried onion, mint, etc. (Highly recommended) Then for main dish I order an rice thick noodle soup PHO (the noodle was too hard, some were not fully cooked and the ...

can I hire nana? sujeto a contrato, PROCESS?

Ok, I am here with visa sujeto a contrato and I am wondering if I am able to hire nanas.

Today, 2 of the nanas that I've interviewed, were both Peruvians, one with visa sujeto a contrato and the other one with visa residencial temporal.
The first one has to wait for 3 years while working with the same employer in order to get permanencia definitiva. The 2nd girl has a chilean children and is waiting for the permanencia definitiva to process through.

I am wondering if there will be any problem for me to hire either of them. Do I go straight to a notario and ask them for a contract or do I have to take my own printed out contract and sign at the notario?

Today, 5 ppl scheduled for interview and only 2 showed up < NO EMAIL >< NO EMAIL > What is up with that?! seems like Peruvians are better workers?

I read through all the rules at Previred but couldnt find the answer that I am looking for.

Thanks lots for any suggestion!

Re: Dim Sum in Santiago

It's currently better than Mr. Wu from what my hubby thinks, plus they just changed their menu a couple of days ago to chinease + spanish + PHOTOS! LOL probab...

I am taking aromatherapy courses at Osmanthus, this is the only facility certified by IFA (International Federation of Aromatherapists) in the entire country. I am pregnant myself plus I've not yet taken my IFA exams and diploma so... I would recommend you Osmanthus as they are very well known in th...

In search for a NOT living-in Nana (Santiago)

Hi, I am looking for a nana with good recommendations. She has to be a non-smoker (I am very sensitive to smoke and 3rd hand smoke) and preferrably doesnt have any kids below 5 years old. We live in Vitacura near Providencia. Please have her contact me or give me her contact info, it doesn't matter ...
