Re: Celebrating delicious new cuts of U.S. beef now availabl

How can you tell if the meat is chilean? Better yet, is there chilean beef in the supermarkets (ex. Jumbo). All that I can find is either Paraguayan or Argentinean. What brand of meat is "grass-fed" or organic? As I did go to Gourmeat and they told me they don't have anything organic.

Re: Chileans attitudes towards immigrant groups who don't mi

I have to say I feel really strong about this topic being Asian. If you are blond with blue/green eyes, you're lucky. But if you are Asian then they try to ignore you, even the waiters in a couple of restaurants gave us the worst service (extremely impolite) calling us chinitos, being impatient, ref...

Window Toldos anyone?

I live in the 2nd floor apartment and would like to install toldos (shade?) outside 2 of the large glass windows.

I tried to do some googgling but most are just for cleaning and maintenance or toldos para terraza. One guy actually came, took measures, quoted and then I haven't heard from him for a month already since he last told me that the materials are being prepared < NO EMAIL >< NO EMAIL > Tried to call him but no one ever answers the call.

What I am talking about is this white waterproof tent thing that can be extended manually further out in order to block sunlight. I dont need some european imported ones but some local mades are ok.

Thanks!!

Oh, and I'm located in Santiago

Re: opening bank accounts - Yank or any foreigner problem?

Re: Sale of alcohol over easter weekend?

Not to get off topic but has anyone seen any dark-malt-drink here? The most common one that I've been drinking aboard is "Karamalz" from Germany. http://www.buenacerveza.cl/2009/07/malta-morenita-malta-del-sur.html It's a non alcohol and super sweet drink made of malt, and the color is really dark c...

Re: Dim Sum in Santiago

My suggestion, do NOT go to the one in La Florida! Go to the new one in Av. Espan~a, it's newer, foods are fresher (really!), easier access, pictures with menu. The only downside is the ppl smoking right under the no-smoking sign. I just dont get it, why do people smoke soooooo much here in Chile?! ...

Re: Flatfish (lenguado) in Chile

PequinstadeCorazon, Thanks lots for the video!!! It's funny how the Argentinean video keeps shooting at the man's face instead of at his working hand! It's interesting the link that you provided about Chilean fish, most of them I've never seen here in the markets :) I just hope some has actually bou...
