Re: Israeli Election

On this point, I do not believe John is misinformed. Netanyahu has insisted that Iran has nuclear weapons for quite some time, contradicting the opinions of various past and present heads of the Mossad and Shin Bet. Netanyahu was also one of the most vociferous voices favoring the 2003 invasion of I...

Re: The Cold War (Version 2.1) is back. Get your checkbooks ready.

After the attack on the Twin Towers in 2001, the U.S. knew who was responsible for those attacks, Al Queda made no bones claiming credit. The U.S. reacted swiftly and sent specialized CIA and special forces teams to Afghanistan to route Al Queda and the Taliban. In the mountains of Tora Bora, they c...

Re: Fruit orchard trees

Don´t plant pine or eucalyptus here unless you really want to piss off your neighbors. Where is "here" ? We plant pines around this here and nobody is annoyed, and in fact visitors sometimes praise the effort. Are you taking the position that there is no Chile south of Talca? Beware the Tree Nazis....

Re: Fruit orchard trees

in regards to your original question. Fruit trees are normally planted and pruned in the fall. Nativos such as Hualle and Coigue are planted in the winter, after they lose their leaves. Don´t plant pine or eucalyptus here unless you really want to piss off your neighbors.
