Re: Solar energy in Chile

Eosol New Energy is funding a US$300,000 PV solar research program at Adolfo Ibáñez University...interest in at least looking for the answers. Fundacion Chile's subsidiary, "Solar Chile", teamed up with First Solar last year. I wonder if Chinese companies like Suntech will soon get in on the action....

Re: Of nana's, contracts and fuero maternal

That's what I was generally thinking: parties would have to legally agree to new terms. The current salary is stated in the contract. Since the nana would be paid more due to fuero maternal and asignacion familiar, would her contract not have to be amended and notarized for her new monthly salary? E...

Re: Shipping dog from Chile to US

Got the dog back to the US without a problem. Just took hours by the time we got an acceptably sized cage constructed by a maestro. Lots of back and forth, stamps, separate payments (SAG, loading, cargo, etc.) to go through at the LAN Cargo at SCL airport. Par for the course I suppose. Moral of the ...

Re: My vacation & wifes new job & pregnancy(help)

So what happens with an expat who leaves Chile at the end of his contract? Is it understood that his nana's contract automatically ends at that time? This has nothing to do with this old thread. You need to move it in to a new topic. It is just confusing everyone else. Oops, excuse my drowsy brain ...

Of nana's, contracts and fuero maternal

So here's an interesting legal question. There's an expat whose end of employment contract is a year from now. He has employed a nana under "indefinite" contract terms (no contract end date). The nana is pregnant, will take maternity leave soon, then return to work after maternity leave. Both partie...

Is it understood that his nana's contract automatically ends at that time? might want to put more detail... not sure if this tread was correct... but if your contract with your nana is written correctly you can fire them any...

Re: Shipping dog from Chile to US

Good replies all. I'm helping a friend ship his dog back to the US and we're going with LAN Chile. Before LAN we had contacted the only service provider we could find and they wanted to charge a fortune, a truly laughable markup, even for Santiago. Now to find the crate, which from the prices I've s...

Shipping dog from Chile to US

I can't seem to find any posts about shipping a dog from Chile to the US, only vice versa.

Does anyone know any shipping or airline companies that will ship a dog from Santiago to the USA?

Re: Mass Resignations?

Yeah, that Goldman Sachs resignation letter was priceless to read. The letter gave much better advice than the normal paid for and trumped up advice one would normally get from that crowd. When you consider most of the strategy of client interaction has been boiled down to a showy spew of uber-confi...

Re: TVN 04 March 2012 - Esto No Tiene Nombre

Where's the Chilean Upton Sinclair when we need him? The lack of quality control in these industries is not surprising...and it's no wonder the bread here tastes like crap. It's dense, dryish and tasteless (except for the lovely rancor of disinfectants and maggot toxins I s'pose). Best to make one's...
