Royal Llama Kickstarter in Arica

I found a Kickstarter project of local interest; high quality skeins of undyed llama wool for knitting etc. originating in Arica, with free shipping to the US or Chile. If you go to the Kickstarter website (Kickstarter.com) and search projects for Royal Llama you will find the project page. The proj...

Re: Wind II

The wind blew much harder than usual in La Serena today around noon for an hour or so. The forecast says we'll have rain tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.

Re: Pokemon or Yugioh in Chile?

I know Pokemon is a thing. My kids have picked up a few cards discarded on the playground by other children, and they are curious about it.

Re: Macaroni and Cheese no longer in Lider Maipu... :(

Kraft macaroni and cheese was in the imported food section again last time I went to the Jumbo in La Serena, around May 30th? It was gone for a long time but now has reappeared, just a heads-up for those of you who may be missing a comfort food. :)

Re: Did the delincuents bump up their day?

Yes, here in La Serena the traditional burning of stuff in the roundabout at the top of Amunategui happened around noon today. I passed by at one, and it was mostly cleared up, but still smoldering.

Re: what happens if your late with your cars revision techni

I don't think anything bad happens unless you either are pulled over/in an accident without a current RT, but you can't get your 2013 registration/permiso de circulation sticker in March without it. The revision tecnica place can't prove you were driving it during the late period other than to bring...

Re: Gay Family (4 children) moving to Santiago?

Two thoughts: one, we have a forum member, PadreCristobal, who helps run St. George's as part of his job as a priest at Holy Cross. At one point he offered his services as a contact with St. George's, but he is not involved with the day-to-day operations. You might consider contacting him via PM abo...

Re: coffee growers in Chile

Browsing through a few coffee growth condition websites, I found a reference that says that coffee plants are killed by frost, as I expected, and injured below 3 C. Also their growth is impaired below 7 C. Their preferred temperature range is 15-25 C. So you might be able to grow them in most of coa...

Re: Negotiating school tuition in order to relocate to Chile

From the "best private school options in Santiago" thread, 2012 fees for Craighouse : The cost is 16.67UF a month, plus the matricula which was around 2.5M pesos. So about $800 monthly (don't know if it is for 10 months or more) plus about $5000 dollars of matricula? That sounds high for a matricula...
