Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
There is some nuance you are willfully looking over. Our usual natural rights vs potentially infecting a community with a dangerous and lethal virus, which can take more lives and cause more damage to property and life in other ways as well. You are, under the current conditions, doing harm to the b...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
What do folks think will be a good window of time for remigration to Chile? We have been in Boston the last year. We are hoping to go back to Chile finally in November/December. Possibly a little earlier. I am hoping we can time it for when there's a lull.. even if there isn't, the alternative is wa...

Ugh. I was hopeful that a silver lining of this pandemic might be the end of this nonsense with the protests and violence...

743 deaths in Italy, over 69,000 cases. Italy is wrongly classifying deaths as caused by corona virus which are not. It is a way to game the system and get more resources for your hospital. If doctors want to get masks and gloves allocated, they have to do this. Source? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/...

Re: The Day After
I'm not quite sure how some of you folks are capable of the mental gymnastics that reduces this crisis to some sort of overblown hoax, or saying its not even as bad as the seasonal flu. And it isn't just deaths from covid. Its the massive crush of patients on our health care systems, that can't with...

Re: Market crash! We have another Black Monday
DOW is already -800 in a min Nothing like pissing a few trillion dollars in to the wind. If they took a trillion and dedicated it to ramping up medical equipment production, research grants, nursing schools, etc, the market would take that as a sign they are serious about fixing the cause. THIS

My suegra flew back to chile last night from uruguay. She is 87, has heart trouble, was more or less alone in uruguay (there to try to sell her property). Family made the decision to fly her back where her family is here in chile, and brave the airports, rather than get stuck in uruguay alone. Urugu...

Re: Market crash! We have another Black Monday
If we are stuck in this sort of quarantine for 60+ days almost world wide what does that look like? How long do we have to stay isolated for the flattened, long tail of this thing to disappear? If it isn't going to disappear, when and how do we ever return to "normal" activity? Could this potentiall...

Re: Market crash! We have another Black Monday
By the end of the week there will be more drastic measures taken. If we are starting to test more, and several days further along our hockey stick path, the data will not be good and hysteria will crank up. In two weeks, worse. In three... As we seem to still not be doing anything to try to mitigate...
