Re: The Trump Administration

Soooooo....about two weeks ago Pumpkinhead picked a new chief of staff, a military guy, and there was a lot of speculation about how this would bring order and discipline to the White House. Yeah, right. Then came the protest and counter-protest in Charlottesville. Pumpkinhead said nothing for a lon...

Re: The Trump Administration

Anther fiscal battle coming soon is the issue of periodic government payments to the insurance companies. The Congress seems generally opposed to the idea of withholding those payments, but Pumpkinhead seems to like the idea. He sees it as a way to force the Dems to negotiate the end of the ACA. It ...

Re: The Trump Administration

That was fast. Scaramucci got fired in his second week. Way to go General Kelly. Some order and discipline and decorum are long overdue.....

Re: The Trump Administration

That might be true, consciously or otherwise. Pumpkinhead doesn't seem to realize that he is not bigger than Congress, and does seem to understand or respect the constitutional constraints on presidential power, even within the executive branch. He loves the attention that he gets from his early mor...

Re: The Trump Administration

An interesting week in DC, to be sure. Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort testified before Congress. Pumpkinhead selected a vulgar man with no experience in communications to be his director of communications. Pumpkinhead verbally attacked Jeff Session for recusing himself from the Russia probe in Janu...

Re: Foundation Construction in Region 7 (Maule)

I would favor a perimeter foundation that gets your floor up off the ground. It will be warmer and also leaves you with access to the plumbing underneath the house.

As for quality workmanship.....do it yourself, or make the effort to find a trustworthy foundation crew (no easy task).

Re: The Trump Administration

Thank-you, John McCain, for having the courage to put the brakes on the "repeal and replace" fiasco in DC. The "skinny" version would have been approved by the Senate, then in all likelihood passed as is by the House. It is a bill very few people liked and it needed to be killed.

Re: The Trump Administration

That argument always fails, because the objectives of government and the objectives of business are not closely aligned. In fact they are antithetical at times.

Re: The Trump Administration

He is unorthodox in many ways, and he was elected partly because he was not going to follow the norms in DC that have locked up the system and made so many people cynical about government. His unorthodox behavior won him the POTUS 45. He got there by being a bully and throwing insults. That's who he...

Re: The Trump Administration

I have the feeling that this administration is about to implode. I don't think that the principal actors had any idea how intense the scrutiny is for sitting presidents and their staff. They are clearly in WAAAAAY over their heads. The pressure from congressional hearings, the special counsel and th...

Re: The Trump Administration

Let's see...what have we learned in the past week from Pig-of-a-Man? 1) He loves to be flattered, which the French did with lots of pomp-and-circumstance. This makes him more pliable. The Saudis knew this, and got their way with him. The French have learned, too, that if you want something from POTU...

Re: The Trump Administration

Now we have indisputable written evidence that Trump Jr, Manafort and Kushner met with a Russian lawyer specifically because they believed that the Russian lawyer would be able to provide dirt on Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr himself released the emails that the NY times was preparing to write about. Th...
