Re: Story of the day

IMHO Desmond Morris is an insightful author. Re: Story of the day

I haven't found the nice talking to work very well, though I've tried it too, but have had success with a drill sargent yell combined with a raised hand, usually with a rock - and they seem to almost recognize the raising of the arm to throw a stone and are conditioned to pause and pull back, waitin...

Goldilocks - not too hot (much) not too cold (little).

For things like that we do $10,000 - it's enough folks seem to appreciate it and aren't insulted. If it was $5 perhaps it'd be ok. Less and it's cheap territory.

Re: Transfer and keep USD in Chilean banks in 2016

Banco de Chile works for the USD acct., receiving wires, but has the usual paperwork documentation - but that same documentation can serve across time if you establish a relationship with your banker, are a known quantity, and sign all the required docs. Banco de Chile - Puerto Montt. We can send th...

> People are very closed here in PV and it's hard to be accepted. I'm thinking of joining a book club or singing in the local choir and perhaps that will offer me a chance to connect. We found that as well and located south of PM, but still w/ easy access to the PV beer fair, Frutillar's Teatro, etc...

FWIW - nonviolent crime. Perhaps something to laugh at. Late 2015 trip to Pto. Natales from Punta Arenas, family member left tablet (from US) in back seat pocket, discovered missing 15 minutes later, back at bus depot 5 minutes later, and since we were the last off and the bus was still there no pro...

They probably won't need your degrees - they didn't need ours FWIW/FYI. Regarding degrees and part time work, validation, the process of getting them legalized/validated/recognized/etc., and ROI - in terms of opportunities, I can speak to that. If your PhD is something like chemical engineering, the...

Re: Leaving Chile Sale

When you get down to bedding and kitchen items, and if you are up for tossing them in a box (or three) for Turbus encomienda (cheap, reliable), we could do a lot purchase & electronic transfer. We'd get all the exercise equip, but given the weight .... (pun intended).
