Re: To flush or not the toilet paper.

I actually haven't had any issues flushing. But, every toilet I've used has almost no water in it. Which, is different. ;-)

btw - best signature quote ever thisisreallycomplicated!

Re: To flush or not the toilet paper.

I've only spent time in Vina Del Mar, Las Condes and Talca. There is still plenty to explore. I know the terrain is gorgeous and on par with New Zealand from what I am told. I am looking forward to doing some hiking this summer in the South.

Re: To flush or not the toilet paper.

Before coming to Chile, my wife and I talked to colleagues at the office who either worked in Chile for years or were born in Chile and were now working on the American side of the corporation. Every word out of their mouths was positive. Beautiful landscapes, friendly people, a vibrant economy, dog...

Re: toll roads

Chile is not an oil producer, the cost of fuel is not all taxes but real cost for the product plus some tax, where do you come from that has cheap fuel? This is what I read. It's a little dated. Is it wrong? "Taxes are another significant factor that drives up fuel costs in Chile. The government co...

Re: toll roads

From my experience, toll roads NEVER go away. The prices will only increase even after the roads have been paid for 3 fold. And, again, if gas prices are as high as they are due to the tax, then where does the tax money go? Sorry for the newb post. I guess these questions shouldn't be asked. "Pay th...

Re: toll roads

I would hardly define 24 dollars in fees from 8 different nagging stops combined with almost 5 dollars a gallon in fuel as extra costs. More like collusion between the state and corporations to commit financial rape.

Re: The Trump Administration

so Trump, now that he is president, thinks the American economy is great, and is willing to take all the credit for the stock market run-up. Alternatively, he is THERE to take the credit for the stock market. This 'big nasty juicy bubble' (like 1000 points ago in the DOW) or whatever he called it w...

toll roads

I just got back from a trip to Talca from Santiago. Wife and I spent $24 American dollars in tolls round trip (4 tolls each way - total pain in the butt) AND spent over double the cost for a gallon of gas compared to the USA? I am confused. If the high cost in gas comes from taxes, then shouldn't th...

Re: looking for a builder

I just got back from a trip to Talca and Pencahue. Every single new construction project I say had concrete foundations with cinder block wall construction stuffed with rebar and concrete. I talked to someone about it and they said to their knowledge everything in the Talca area was framed with that...

Re: looking for a builder

This 12 point checklist looks very interesting. I wonder how much it would cost to build a house that scores an 11 or 12?

Re: looking for a builder

Can you please define 'light structure'? Do you mean construct the house out of wood and NOT concrete/adobe? Or, do you mean keep the house under a certain size (sf, sm)?

Thanks Admin!
