Re: Housing market situation

So I have noticed that many new builds don't seem to be selling. Lots of offers starting to be made buying two together, deposit paid in quotas etc. With even more buildings being constructed are we going to start seeing a drop in prices? Ive seen used buildings overpriced and keeping fingers cross...

Re: Jobs besides teaching english

This sounds about right for the investment banker types. http://i.stuff.co.nz/business/world/93945621/aussie-bankers-drug-colleague-with-valium-and-laxatives-in-attempt-to-discredit-him Macquarie Bank is well-known (in Australia) for their arrogance, their "good" connections (by that, I mean with l...

Re: Jobs besides teaching english

We are choosing pm because we like the German architecture, the weather, we have friends there, fishing, outdoor activities, far away from Santiago, big enough for everything we need but not a metropolis. I know they're going to be less jobs probably less pay but it's an experience we don't want to...

Re: Bargain Hunter(s) Read This

7 sailors killed in that collision.- As an American destroyer cruised off the waters of Japan in clear weather in the early hours of Saturday, only a few dozen of the crew of 350 were likely to be awake: standing watch, keeping the engines running, manning the bridge. Then, Navy officers with decad...

Re: Surviving an operation & hospital stay in a public hospital

I have been in a few old school public hospitals where it is like, "don't you know about bleach" or "how about a can of paint"? yeah that could go for a lot of public buildings, they always seem to be the ugliest in a lot of towns, don't tell me it's because there is no money, it's just preve...

Don't know why this popped up, is that last post spam? Fees for oldies home range between 600k and 1 million pesos per month from the 4 or 5 resthomes I have heard of.

Re: MOVING ! TO PUERTo VARAS or Patagonia - advice need!

Here an article about Chilean salary for a nurse ... http://www.careeraddict.com/top-5-countries-with-the-highest-paid-salaries-for-nurses Well that's a surprise if it's true, about salaries, if it's so great I wonder why the market hasn't been flooded with places nurses can study, which seems to h...

Re: MOVING ! TO PUERTo VARAS or Patagonia - advice need!

Dear Henry, I've been living in Puerto Varas for over a year and like it very much. Yes, it's expensive relative to other cities in Chile, but it's much nicer. The views are great, the restaurants are excellent and the people are pretty nice, although a little snobby. The city is overrun with touri...
