Re: IVA and Construction

I went to the Bienes Nacionales office just infront of the German cemetary. 3rd floor. Bienes Raices I believe is pretty much opposite the mall in the centre of town.

Re: IVA and Construction

Apologies if I forgot to mention that I did buy the land privately. I didn'y buy it from the state at all! Bienes Nacionales need to measure the land though in order to complete the legal title.

Re: IVA and Construction

Hi Admin. The house is 80% finished so fingers crossed he will complete it honorably. I used a Valdivian lawyer to sort out all the Bienes Nacionales paper work so all good there. I actually went into the Bienes Nacioanles office here a few months ago and they told me that either they or an external...

Re: IVA and Construction

Thanks again guys. Sorry to hear about your awful experience hlf2888. My heart literally does goes out to you. Gloria, I bought the land using a "Promesa de compraventa" and I am waiting for the guys from Bienes Nacionales to come and measure the land officially, anytime soon now cos all that offici...

Re: IVA and Construction

Thanks guys for your input. I actually have already started trying to finish the house myself given how this project has transpired. The contract reads his personal name and that he is a "Contratiste en obra civiles" with his personal RUT number along with it in the first clause. The only mention of...

Re: IVA and Construction

Cheers for that fraggle092. Thanks for finding that info. There is no formal paperwork regarding the municipality so I won't be able to avail of the above. On a further note, the contract is between him and I, not his construction company. I think I read somewhere that only companies can charge IVA....

IVA and Construction

Hi guys, I think I am being diddled by my builder! I have a notarised contract with him which states the following "El precio total de lo convenido es de $xxxxx valor neto en el concepto obra vendido" I have replaced the actual price with xxxxx's as you can see. I asked him to remove the word IVA fr...

Re: Getting Permanent Residence

Hi Britkid. Thanks for you post. I am about to send my application for my permanent visa. One question though. It states I must put "Numero de cedula inentidad" on the back of the photo. Is this the RUN/RUT number or the other document number or the long number at the back of it? Cheers if anyone el...

Re: TransferWise

I have used it a few times now. Excellent service. Last transfer took only 3 days. Lovely staff there and very professional. At the moment we can only recieve money. We cannot send money out of Chile. They tell me they need to be trusted first by Chilean banks etc... Their commision is higher than f...

Re: Land survey

After a bit of research on other countries including the US, it would appear that the 2 dimensional approach is widely agreed as the way to go. In that the actual surface area is not taken into consideration. It makes sense because it would be a mathematical nightmare, if not impossible to measure e...
