Re: Argentina Economy, Election, and possible default?

A friend used to work with a family member in Santiago. Its key staff were all recruited out of Europe e...

Re: Argentina Economy, Election, and possible default?

As someone who´s involved in tourism I can say that the vast majority in the industry here provide food and accommodation for a quick buck. They haven´t experienced, don´t do, or even understand what true "hospitality" is. Over promising and under delivering is the norm. I don´t have time to list so...

Re: Passive House (Passivhaus) construction

Will the skylight open? Look at Velux. Good for ventilation, and in a wet area they can be closed to the weather but still ventilating/drying things out. Another option is solar tubes which are cheaper but still very effective. A tip, if the divider is clear glass it looks great but´s an absolute pa...

Re: Climate changing in Chile

No that´s how university based "research" works and how some of it´s paid for, whether by govt grants or funding from corporations. It´s been that way for eons. He´s not writing about nothing. I don´t pretend to know climate or any other science but am comfortable with my own analogy that if 90% of ...

Yes, just in case someone asks for it. Always better to have too much documentation than not enough in Chile, but only ever produce what they actually ask for!

Transbank is no longer a full monopoly, Sumup, CLP29.000 and you own the machine, no monthly fees and lower commissions. It´s still not as diverse as Transbank. We´re saving money on most credit card transactions but direct debit is only allowed on the cards from the bank where the machine was bough...

Re: Possibly moving to Chile

I´ve struck it too. I put it down partly to the fact it´s a mono-culture. Unlike multi-cultural societies where we´re used to hearing all sorts of accents every day and from time to time having to slow down and speak clearly to be understood by immigrants, many Chileans shy away from foreigners, or ...
