Speaking of China: "China’s total planned coal-fired power projects now stand at 226.2 gigawatts (GW), the highest in the world and more than twice the amount of new capacity on the books in India, according to data published by environmental groups on Thursday." https://www.reuters.com/article/us-c...

Re: Climate changing in Chile

Gloria, love your semi-new signature "I sayeth as I seeth." In prehistoric times aka 60 years ago, baseball umpires used a similar saying. The phrase comes from a story about an argument between three umpires. The first umpire says, "I calls 'em like I sees 'em." The second one says, "I calls 'em li...

Re: 6.1 los lagos, 5.4 coqimbo quake

I was driving a few kilometers from the Samore border crossing, very near the epicenter. When I arrived at the border the personnel at Aduana de Chile, SAG and PDI were all very calmly drinking mate like nothing unusual had just happened. I didn't even know there was an earthquake until the one of t...

Re: electric vehicles in chile

Being from the Bay Area doesn't automatically grants protection from following the money, I'd say quite the opposite because the whole region is notoriously corrupted by its wealth. The quote I posted says that "They [petrol vehicles] also sometimes combust when they're just sitting around". In oth...

Today's Hindenburg  https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Tesla-Vehicle-Catches-Fire-in-Los-Gatos-503080661.html Not a fan of Tesla but the article looks like the oil lobby's propaganda. Re: New rules or the same old

Yeah I thought the same thing. I would think it would be like renewing a driver's license or passport. Show them the old one and get a new one but no this is Chile so we'll make it as difficult as possible..

Re: New rules or the same old

I renewed mine last year, and had to produce the original cert. If you dont have it, you need to get a copy. I've been trying for 8 months to get a copy and getting nowhere. Sent in all required docs requested by extranjeria, patiently waited for copy to arrive knowing they're busy with all the new...

Re: New rules or the same old

I am curious to know if beside the certificado de vigilancia did Registro Civil also require your original certificado de residencia permanencia definitiva? or just the PDI certificate only? No if you have your carnet, it show that you have "residencia permanencia". Because you have a run card and ...

Re: New rules or the same old

Last time I renew my id card, I only needed to get a "cetificado de vigencia", take a copy and go to Registro Civil, Yeah unfortunately like Paladin said you have to go the PDI office to get your certificate. I am curious to know if beside the certificado de vigilancia did Registro Civil also requi...
