Re: EAT THE RICH!!! ( comic relief )

Admin, are these cartoons your creations? I sent them to friends because they are too funny not to share but did so without attribution.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I think this is an interesting article about what GM is doing: https://jalopnik.com/gm-retooled-a-clos ... 1842613920 and last week (or the week before?) they had a story about Ford working with two other companies to make respirators.

Re: 4th April put clocks back 1 hour

Thanks! I wondered what the date of the time change for winter would be.

ghibll, I've been reading the Chile Forum on and off for more than a decade. Britkid's posts have always been helpful, informative and interesting. The question he posed is reasonable and certainly didn't require your nasty response.

Re: Prefabricated Houses

Thanks for those links, passport. We need a home for a worker and his wife. It has been interesting trying to find a larger (more than 500 square feet) pre-fab house without 3 or 4 bedrooms. I'm not convinced that pre-fab is less expensive than site-built, but that is a different issue.

Re: Finding the Doctor

I would begin at a drug store (p h a r m a c y). I don't know how medical prescriptions work in the U.K., but many (most?) medicines which require a prescription in the U.S. are available over-the-counter in Chile. You will need to know the chemical name of the drug, not the marketing name.

Re: Dirty Tricks - Operación Huracán

I fear the issues you raise regarding chain of evidence are academic. How many Chilean attorneys will become aware of this issue, understand it, contact their client, and bring the matter to court?

Re: Bilingual private schools in Santiago?

As a childfree adult with a strong interest in education I would put an elementary-age child in the public system here in uber-rural Chile and supplement that education at home. I also think Britkid's comment above is one of the most sensible things you will read about education in Chile. There are ...

Re: New Member Here

Not on point, but related: Today I was startled to see a small photo studio in "el centro" Curico. It has long struck me as odd that there are no JCPenney/Walmart-type photo studios in Chile for parents to bring their children. It was clean, bright and inviting. (Unusual in and of itself for the sma...

Take your old one to a hojalateria (sp?) and ask them to make you another.
