Re: Quarantine requirements for all travelers to Chile (UPDATE 2, Jan 7th)

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
I have been following a British doctor on YouTube. Dr John Campbell. He talks about Vitamin D deficiency in those with serious and fatal cases of Covid 19. Of course the Northern Hem is just coming out of winter, hence lower levels of Vit D. And people with darker skin do not generate vit D as well ...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
And yes, very concerning about the numbers in Temuco, especially as the air quality there is dire in the colder months.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile
It seems that obesity is a relevant factor in those that are dying and who have no other medical issues. I have seen that the outcome for those needed ventilators is not that great, in fact I saw that one doctor felt it was the wrong kind of treatment given the infections that can happen through int...

Re: Should Schools Charge Less for Now?
We are waiting for a response from the jardin. They don't want to budge much. They already closed for several weeks in Oct and November and we still had to pay, so now this is a bone of contention for us. This is a well established jardin that has good profit margins by the way as they charge a lot ...

Re: Isapre Prices
I recently got a response from the Superintendencia de Salud regards to me complaining about the GES rise. Super says that according to their calculations, the Isapres can't charge more than 0.06 U. F. (roughly the figure) per assured person and they were charging me 0.75 U. F.. Super said that any ...

Plebiscite
Hey everyone. I am trying to gather information as to be able to make an informed decision when it comes to voting in the plebiscite. Does anyone want to share their reasons for or against a new constitution. Hopefully informed opinions and not baseless ones. And hopefully we can have a respectful d...

Re: Isapre Prices
When I get that letter, you can appeal the rise with the Superintendencia de Salud. You don't need a lawyer at all. You have to upload a pdf copy of your letter to the website and both sides of your cédula. You have to do this within a month of receiving the letter. While this trámite is in process,...

Re: Private schools
I know a couple of mums who have their kids in state schools in ñuñoa and they are very happy! They are not all bad. However I have decided to put my son in the Barrie Montessori. He is currently in jardin there. I think this is an excellent alternative given the state of education here. I think tha...

Re: Rent out or sell half of duplex
First of all, sorry to hear about your father. Second, I think the best thing would be to rent out. In Rancagua, would the money you got in a lump sum for a house there mast that long? At least renting would mean a fixed monthly imcome. Also, this housing market is just going crazy at the minute in ...

Re: Revalidating university degree for a driver's license
No, the test is in spanish. I do know a lot of people going to viña to take the test using just a foreign license and this is accepted as proof of education. How much Chilean history and literature would you recommend studying before the test? That is hard to say, I didn´t get any questions on lite...
