Re: Goodbye Europe ?

Not going to gloat given the human death toll and the implications for Europe. All I will say is this. There are bad people out there. Bad, bad, bad people. They don’t care about your prayers. They don’t care about the nice things you do for others. They don’t care about your family. They just hate ...

Re: Goodbye Europe ?

Another recent story relevant to this thread was Sweden closing its borders to immigrants. (Or something like that.) Hi Picalena, If fahrvergnügen has been vindicated for your views, and you reference Paris, you must be talking about the recent bombings/killings etc, which is breaking news. And if ...

Re: Goodbye Europe ?

Hi Fahrvergnugen, Yes, quite a rant, I really don't think there is much evidence of immigrants being rapists, I think you're overstating that line although not looking to get into a long argument about it. And the anti-immigration stance is kind of ironic when you've been a immigrant yourself so ma...

Re: Goodbye Europe ?

What a diatribe...my goodness... I really don't blame you for thinking that, SLC. As I said in my post - what really is going on barely makes the news, it's literally the tip of the iceberg. We had an explosion of rapes happen in the past months, all committed by migrants. One of them was a 7 year ...

Re: Goodbye Europe ?

That German guy you met at the gym is gravely mistaken (and I am forcing myself to be polite here) when stating that Syrians will be easy to integrate. Besides it's a complete red herring and has nothing to do with the real issues at hand. It is very difficult to convey to you guys the magnitude of ...

Re: Internet over satellite in Chile

Yea still need something more specific than " los lagos". Big place. Good point! How about where you are, Frutillar, Puerto Varas, Puerto Montt? Or let me ask it another way: Which places in/near the Los Lagos area have the best connectivity? Real numbers/tests if available please. Thanks in advance.

Re: Internet over satellite in Chile

Hey guys - it's been a few years since I posted this and I wanted to revisit how things have progressed. We actually wound up moving to Spain for three years but may be starting to spend some time in Chile over the coming years - now that our Spanish has progressed quite a bit :-) So the area I am c...

Why are you moving just after one year? Chile too spicey or too bland for you?

Re: Reasons to move back to the U.S.

Life is a series of compromises. Having lived in possibly the most safe and beautiful part of So. Cal. for 43 years I must agree with fahrvergnugn. The changes I see when I leave the scenic Oregon coast where we have called home for 18 yrs. to visit family are unimaginable. You can cut the ambient ...
