Re: CHILE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY A TORTURE CHAMBER

If it has anything but shellfish in it (i.e. chicken, sausage) it is unlikely to be the choice on Good Friday. The Jumbo customer service in the one I use in Santiago wipes the floor with Lider but things vary. I am not sure I would call this poor customer service as he tried calling the direct line...

I loved that. Put it on my FB page. I couldn't find the video. Did you?

Re: Fences and moving in the outback

There are so many treks to do in Chile on public land that there really is no need to try to enter private land. Hunting and fishing both require a license but the license doesn't mean you can go wherever you want.

You refer to your partner as a Chilean resident. Do you mean citizen?

Re: unsulfured molasses in chile?

If an Indian grocery has it you should try Don Harry on Manuel Montt in Providencia. Hopefully you are in Santiago but you don't give a location..

Re: unsulfured molasses in chile?

Not basic here. I don't know but probably one of the specialty shops like tiendanatural.cl. Google "productos natiurales melaza". That might turn up something.

Re: Paying The Bills

>>I certainly did not request any auto pay.<< I think you have to request it, it can't be imposed. You must have ticked some box. Insurance is easy on auto-pay as the amount varies so little. Electricity can vary a lot from month to month. I am glad you would write off a 20,000 peso mistake. Most of...

Re: Paying The Bills

I agree that I would never pay my bills though automatic debit from the bank. (You can do it using your debit or credit card options). Once the utility's system has a bank account number they never want to let it go. My water bill still has my husband's name on it and says it is paid through the ban...

Re: Renewing cedula in new town

Somewhere you are not a resident? Not every PDI office can do it. I saw a list somewhere on the internet so you could look for it. In theory, if they are amenable and have an extranjeria office, you can do it. I went to Viña for the PDI certificate and could have done the RC there. Quite a few peopl...

Re: Pensionado visa

An unnecessary bit of vulgarity after most have tried to answer questions which were not always clearly written. The bureaucracy is complex as it is anywhere, including Argentina, and a pieces of cake compared to some. This is a forum with people with varying bits of knowledge about the process invo...

I had no collision insurance, only personal injury.
I see. I hope you do now! As your situation shows, you really don't want to have to go to court in Chile!
