Re: LATAM pricing fiddles

Finally found Ocado would sell me the (single) flight for £600.
A lot less than LAN themselves were offering but still a very expensive flight !!

Multi-city won't work as it is a direct flight.

LATAM pricing fiddles

We're coming over to Santiago again next year but want to return home to London via New York.
LATAM are quoting £3877.10 ONE WAY SCL to JFK but as little as £602.50 RETURN !!
Why on earth do they do this ?

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

Expedia tells me the direct BA flight (Dreamliner) only allows one suitcase, BA/Iberia via Madrid one suitcase, no other one-stop BA flights offered by Expedia on the date I surveyed. LATAM one-stop flights are through Sao Paulo and for some reason flights to Brazil are all offered two suitcases. Wh...

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

I've been checking out the flights from London to Santiago in preparation for our next foray. The direct flight with the BA Dreamliner is certainly about 4 hours quicker than the old route with TAM and a stopover in Sao Paulo BUT you can only bring one suitcase but if you go the old route you can ta...

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

The first London to Santiago direct flight has already happened, departed Heathrow 50 minutes late, arrived SCL 47 minutes late after 14+ hour flight. Can't be bad, avoiding that dreadful airport at Sao Paulo and must be cheaper for BA not having to pay their landing fees there. Looking forward to h...

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

Have you guys heard about this ? Qatar Airways is expected to open a direct route from Dubai to Santiago, Chile, which would have a flight time of about 18 hours, 30 minutes. They’re also expected to operate a non-stop flight from Doha to Auckland. And Emirates has plans to hold onto its title with ...

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

A380 with 18½" seats - which company is flying this lovely plane over the Pacific and when will it be flying London to Santiago ?
I suspect passenger levels mean it will not fly LHR-SCL but we can dream !!
Thanks for posting the YouTube link.

Re: LAN Will Have First Dreamliner Flights Into South America Starting July 2015

I just checked with Expedia and the return cost is £1000+ whereas other airlines take longer but cost around £250 less and
LATAM will still be flying the 777-300 which is one of the most comfortable economy seats I've found so far.
