Re: Bringing in seeds

Yes, we have friends with heirloom seeds near Puerto Varas, the seed swap is a good idea but you need something to swap..

Re: What will surprise me?

With your experience and attitude, the main surprise maybe how well you adapt to this beautiful and interesting country.
We have only lived in the states for over 60 years, never traveled much, and now call
Chile home.
We are so happy here that we have bought cemetery plots!
Bienvenidos!

Re: Help identify my first UFO!

The OVNI stories abound in this part of the country. For what it's worth, I agree with admin, many of these may be US made. And yes, eeepat, Antarctica...

Sorry for the confusion. First they unsuccessfully attempted to cross in their own vehicle. They had no problem in a rental car.

Re: Foreigners without residency, can not leave with Chilean car

Our friends residing here on a tourist visa were turned back on their way to Bariloche last Tuesday. They rented a car two days later and crossed without insident.

Yes, as nwdiver mentioned and many of us would agree, if you are considering moving anywhere, spend the money and time and visit your perspective country.
After 3 years, one very close eruption, fires, floods and seismic activity, hands down this is the country for us.

Re: Puerto Varas air show UFO/meteor

According to many studies, meteors/or meteorites travel at approx. 30,000 mph. This opject appeared to be moving much slower and did not resemble or produce the sound of a missle or rocket. From our vantage point we missed "the object". The area surrounding P.V. is loaded with first and secondhand s...
