Re: Can you leave Chile during citizenship process?

Good to know that so long as you record is clean and you have stayed within the requirements to maintain the permanent residency that at the very least you won't lose your permanent residency if you are denied citizenship, *phew!*

Thank you SO much Admin! So grateful for your guidance on this one!!

Re: Can you leave Chile during citizenship process?

Hi again, Admin! Thank you for taking the time to clarify. Obviously due to our jobs here in the US, staying in Chile at this moment in time is not an option. Just out of curiosity though, if you're eventually rejected for citizenship due to the 180 day requirement, (provided that all other document...

Can you leave Chile during citizenship process?

Hi all, I keep seeing on here multiple folks saying they've been waiting 1-2 years+ after submitting app, doing interview and paying fee. Is it really true that you can't leave Chile until you have your naturalization certificate and Chilean passport in hand? Meaning, we really can't leave at all ti...

Global Entry Type Program for Permanent Residents for Expedited Entry at SCL Airport?

Hi Folks, The US has a program you can join that allows you to get through security faster at the airports called Global Entry. They basically do a deep background check in advance and once you're in the program you get through security and customs much much faster when you arrive from an internatio...

Re: Renewing your cédula de identidad if you have permanent residence.

I recently did this exact process and the logistics of getting it done were pretty much on point with Donny's post. The only difference with me is that I did not have an appointment, but was able to get both the PDI certifacdo de vigencia early in the morning and then ran to the registro civil on hu...

According to the cruz verde customer service they no longer receive patches into the country, supposedly. I was able to buy nicorette gum after several cust...

Re: Nicotine patches in Chile? Need help asap!

Also, I am willing to go in person and buy it from any expat here TODAY if possible. I only need 1-2 patches, not the whole box.

VERY appreciated to anyone who can help!

Re: 5 years of permanent residency - clarification?

So I've checked the official website but there's no clarification on the physical requirement of having been physically in Chile aside from the requirement of not being out of the country more than 1 year to maintain permanent residency but my question is about the physical requirement to apply for ...

Renew Carnet, Over 5 years permanent residency, process questions?

Hi all, So I'm returning to Chile after having received prorroga abroad. Everything is still valid, no overstays or permenant residency concerns. However, my carnet expired last June so I'd like to renew it as soon as I get to Santiago. I've heard so many versions of what I'm supposed to do and how ...
