Re: Lent a Chilean several millions pesos, and he does not pay back

What are the ways to get the money back? . Shaming him in FB or any social media won´t work either ´cause most chileans when it comes to "plata" have no shame. Depending on this person status in society, I disagree. if he projects himself as a successful businessman and moves in the higher society ...

If the car / truck is for commercial use, then you can convert to gas. I have seen plenty of taxis that drive on gas and a friend has a new Ford F150 that he converted.

Re: Chile's Place in Latin America

[quote=41southchile post_id=186885 time=1543024934 user_id=23998 As it stands right now, a uni degree here only improves one's social standing, and then only slightly if they don't actually work in the profession. Why would anyone but them pay for improving their self-esteem? I disagree. Without a ...

Re: Ski Season Los Lagos

I liked Chillan when I went some years ago. Some great runs and off-piste as well. Weather however can be tricky as they close down the higher parts of the mountain frequently. IN Santiago, Valle Nevado is by far the better option. Looks like others agree with me in regards to Chillan: https://www.e...

Re: Amazon to go to Colombia....Not Chile

As I understand it, then it is a service centre they are installing in Colombia - ie a call center / online support. It has nothing to do with either AWS or actually installing a physical distribution centre. If that is understood correctly, then it can be no surprise. Chile is too expensive to oper...

Re: Housing market situation

Yeah Vitacura, Las Condes, and the like is definitely not your "average Chilean market." Well, grouping together the Eastern comunas you reach about 750,000 inhabitants or about 10% of Santiago population. Perhaps not average, but not super exclusive either. I wanted to buy it immediately, but firs...

BBVA said that I should get the paysips validados por "embajada o consulado, del pais de origin de los ingresos, establecido en Chile, y luego validadas por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores en Chile." However I wasn't able to do that (see below). the part about getting them validated by Relac...

Re: Getting a Chilean Driving License

After that I had to move an object with a pencil in the end to follow a certain line or shape testing I have a steady hand and then some optical tests of looking through an eye piece into a thing that was like a telescope or binoculars with some letters in it. It was like a mini version of going to...
