Re: Isapre Prices

---Someone told me you can negotiate the prices but it's time consuming and hardly worth it. Another said get a lawyer and you can fight it (as referenced above) - doesn't seem worth it though for the cost and expense of a lawyer. Seems a screwy system that you have to go through tramites to fight ...

Re: Uber in Chile

I use Uber all the time in Santiago. So far, no problems. I know that they are operating in a gray zone, but they are so much better than the taxis. No bitching and complaining, newer and more comfortable cars, lower prices, more cars available in outskirts (try getting a taxi in Chicureo or get a t...

Re: Climate changing in Chile

Yes, last year was pretty dry in Santiago. However, no rain so far this year is pretty standard. Average in the last 30 years is 3.9mm to date. I am not going to worry about that yet. 2017 wasn't that bad. I remember hoping that the drought was over, but unfortunately it doesn't seem so. check https...

I have a wife, 2 kids that both speak Spanish decently well (the oldest near fluent), and are looking for a coastal (scenic if possible), mid-sized city with a good school for our kids and access to good health care. ...

Re: Lent a Chilean several millions pesos, and he does not pay back

What are the ways to get the money back? . Shaming him in FB or any social media won´t work either ´cause most chileans when it comes to "plata" have no shame. Depending on this person status in society, I disagree. if he projects himself as a successful businessman and moves in the higher society ...

Re: electric vehicles in chile

If the car / truck is for commercial use, then you can convert to gas. I have seen plenty of taxis that drive on gas and a friend has a new Ford F150 that he converted.

Re: Chile's Place in Latin America

[quote=41southchile post_id=186885 time=1543024934 user_id=23998 As it stands right now, a uni degree here only improves one's social standing, and then only slightly if they don't actually work in the profession. Why would anyone but them pay for improving their self-esteem? I disagree. Without a ...
