Re: ATM fee

Scotia just bought BBVA and here where I live, they picked up and moved down the street. Now they are experiencing problems with Global alliance ATM fees. The ATMS in the lobby will charge $5.500CLP and they hit you in Canada with a five dollar charge. Calling 800 4 SCOTIA will get them to immediate...

Re: Looking for a place to rent Valpo/Viña/Quilpué/Villa Alemana/Limache

AT46: My arrival goes back 25 years... I'm in Maule now. As for waiting two months before my "arrival", I am looking prior to the imbeciles who include holiday rentals in the long-term rentals. Two months puts it off to looking during JANUARY at the height of the season, just after New Year's Eve. I...

Looking for a place to rent Valpo/Viña/Quilpué/Villa Alemana/Limache

I plan on moving back into the 5th Region by March 1, 2019 and so I'm starting a search. Looking for a small place to rent, not shared (or as part of a larger property with a private entrance). NO electric showers, NO shared bathrooms, NO shared kitchen, NO shared laundry, NO shared electric, NO fur...

Re: International Wire transfer to CL and "full names"

I might try that...banco estado atm withdrawl fee just went up to 4900 pesos from 4000. Lucky me. I have a Canadian Scotiabank account for gummint stuff and people who give/send money via Canada (like Google and Paypal). When it take it out at the local Sco-Cha branch at the ATM, no fees whatsoever...

Sending mail to Canada CERTIFIED

I recently had to send some mail to Canada: my tax return, another non-resident NR5 form, and an application for a Canadian benefit which included some documentation. I went over to Correos, waited for my turn patiently (nowadays the mail service is really overloaded by Haitians). When I got to the ...

Re: Text messages to the US using Claro Chile (a problem)

Well here's anomolous behaviour: Sure, I can send international SMS from my ENTEL SIM. Costs pesos. I think it was extra, maybe 70CLP instead of 50. Wow, I've had the same number for 15 or 16 years, except they keep putting an extra 9 in front. I can send unlimited text from my WOM BAM (via the web ...

Renewing your CEDULA being a FOREIGNER

Well, I had a most satisfying experience this time around, even though PDI's foreign office changed its location in town and I had come by after 2pm. I should have known better! I came back the next day with my Certificado de Permanencia Definitiva, the agent did all the clackety clackety on the com...

Scotiabank users

If you're a Scotiabank user you may have noticed a fee where none should appear if you're using a Scotiabank Chile ATM. I called up customer service and complained that there was a CAN$3.50 charge when I had taken some lucas out. Phillip, the CSR explained that there had been a glitch with Scotiaban...

Re: Webhosting in Chile and .cl domain name

Forget it. It can't be done. You cannot make enough money using Google Ads in order to make a living. Unless you do pr0n or some illegal activity. You might be able to supplement an existing income with a website, but forget it. If you own TVN or Mega or BioBio, you might make additional income, but...

For me at the time it was the difference between $1300 or $5000. Since I literally only had two lucas to my name, "Federal" Express and Do-you-Have-Letter were out of the question.

Re: Correos or DHL for mailing tax return?

I have to admit that Correos is borderline better than Canada Post in that the carteros don't go out on strike every week. But, I had to send a certified letter to the Canadian Tax office. Look at this: http://www.correos.cl/SitePages/seguimiento/seguimiento.aspx?envio=rr499436727cl and Canada Post ...
