Re: Value of a department in Las Condes

Thanks I know that things are quite variable. I was hoping for a pointer to any site that had reliable values for renting or sales of departments. As everyone knows, searching for things in Chile is a exercise of total BS vs real information. Portales are the norm when searching for anything here :x

Value of a department in Las Condes

My Chilena wife owns a departamento in Las Condes right beside Apumanque.. It is a single bedroom, 6th floor on the side away from the busy street, nice and quite. The building construction was finished in 2010 after the quake. It has a parking spot in the subterraneo, a bodega, access to the common...

Tongoy is a disaster and you should avid it. Coquimbo and La Serena are still in good shape and you can enjoy your visit there. My novia's family lives there and I just visited last week.

Re: Five and half years in Chile, rant time!

Ummmmm, I am already there!!!!! I live 7km outside of San Pedro de Atacama, 25km from ALMA, and I have been running from solar power for more than 5.5 years and run a solar power installation company. Perhaps I didn't say that before?

Re: Speeding ticket, worth fighting or a waste of time?

1. I can stay at ALMA if I want as I do have a room. The problem is I also have astronomy tours to do at night just outside of San Pedro de Atacama. I am obligated to the tours first, then ALMA. 2. It was my first offense. 29kph over a limit of 60kph is considered "grave". The normal suspension is a...

Re: Five and half years in Chile, rant time!

La Serena is a relatively nice place. I like it more than Santiago to live in. It is 10000x better than Antofagasta or Calama. It has most of the big city conveniences without the big city. It also has some parts that are throw backs to old ways of doing things and some pretty ugly neighborhoods. (A...

Re: Speeding ticket, worth fighting or a waste of time?

Today I went to the beautiful wonderful and friendly Calama. I was told by the police who gave me the ticket that I needed to go before the date on the ticket. He said this to me and my girlfriend. Of course, when I arrived at the place to pay the ticket that I was there on the wrong day and had to ...

Re: Truck Modifications

It would be a good idea to get an AGM battery (absorbed glass mat) as they are maintenance free and will withstand below freezing temrpatures without problem. They are superior to GEL batteries but cost more. If you deal with solar energy businesses in Santiagio to get some of your equipment, avoid ...
