Just got back from 3 days / 2 nights in the park. Based ourselves out of Las Torres campsite, doing day treks (didn't see the point of backtracking with big packs, managed to cover a decent amount of ground. A nice campsite, although the tranquility was rather spoiled by the sound of earthmovers pre...

Hey Px, do you know whether park hours 7.30 am til whenever means no camping? I guess so... I wonder whether you'd have to pay for the guide to camp with you...

Zer0nz, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Saludos from across the border, which is surprisingly expensive for yummy ice cream and pizza.

@px, Thanks for your balanced response. I guess we'll wait and see.

It did take a while to dock today, no announcements about wind though, guess they didn't want to scare the tourists ;)

Erdiko on 4 Norte between 1 and 2 Poniente is excellent. They have a great lunch menu every weekday for either 3900 or 4900, depending on what the main is. Evening is a little pricey, but worth it. The cocktails are delicious. http://www.erdiko.cl/ or info on Facebook, they update the lunch menu the...

Shipping stuff from Chile to the UK

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, we're moving back to the UK in January for work reasons. I was wondering if anyone has any experience and advice with regard to shipping companies? We don't have much stuff, just personal belongings and possibly a couple of items of furniture and a TV.

Thanks.

It's definitely on here somewhere that you can get it from any SII office. The SII office in Valpo is in the bottom of the big pinky orangey tower block in the centre of town between Plaza Anibal Pinto and Lider, otherwise known as Melgarejo, 669. A list of SII offices here: http://www.sii.cl/sobre_...
