Re: Puma in the kitchen?

Well now, I've heard of Chileans keeping tarantulas as pets, but pumas??? (My, these are hardy folk.)
I'd be interested if you hear anything definitive.

Re: Tarantulas as pets?

Last fall, my housekeeper found a tarantula in a rubber plant in the dining room. "Is that your pet?" she asked.
"Uh, not exactly," I answered as we gently escorted it outside. According to her, there are people who keep tarantulas in their homes here. I suppose they eat the cockroaches? :?

Re: Traveling with money

You could deposit the cash into your Chilean checking account, and then use an ATM in the US to take the money out in dollars In past, similar situations, when doing business travel, I would just pull out with an ATM card, however, this being Chile I don't have an ATM card available (yet). Oops. Ap...

Re: Traveling with money

You could deposit the cash into your Chilean checking account, and then use an ATM in the US to take the money out in dollars (be SURE to notify your bank before you leave, that you will be traveling in the US and using your bank card.) That would avoid having a wad of cash in your pocket, and you g...

Reimbursement for use of private vehicle for work

Does anyone know if there is a place on-line to find the how much the SII allows for calculating mileage charges (kilometerage?) for the use of personal vehicles when issuing a boleta? In 2011, an accountant gave me this formula to use: "KM x 0.0105 x valor UF." I don't know what the 0.0105 stands f...
