Re: Can you afford to live in Chile????

Aligning with latitude and comparing Chile to northern europe does not work very well because nothern europe has the Gulf stream and Chile has the Humboldt which means a lot for the climate.

Re: 2 br apartment for rent in Las Condes

Yes, this is a nice project and a nice area to live in. This building is just now finished. Actually the depto. is not even delivered yet but will be in a few days so whom ever will be renting will be the first to live there.

Re: IB in English in Santiago

Do you have a different experience
No, not at all. I am just curious since I am "collecting" as much info as possible about IB schools (I have a 7-yr old daughter).
Thanks for your comments.

Re: Holiday Wednesday 19th April for Census

Ok, makes sense but I've heard that the census people leave a note on the door if nobody opens ... and the note tells you to do the census online (and pay $20000) or else you'll get a multa for around $45000. Makes me think I should go to the census online and say I am not in Chile right now??

Re: Holiday Wednesday 19th April for Census

What is this talk about getting a multa if you are not home for the census? If this is true what are you supposed to do if you are not in Chile during the census?

Re: Citizenship, new requirement for time in country

Ok, and in these cases, the list of journeys was not sent in, given the rule update from January/February 2016, correct? Or was that when this requirement was still in place? (Or in a place where rules are made up on the spot.) Sorry, I don't know the details but the info I got is just a month old ...

Re: Citizenship, new requirement for time in country

The information I have been provided is that if you have not been in Chile 180 days per year during the past year it is wise not to apply for citizenship. If you don't meet this requirement be prepared for a "battle" you most likely will not win. I was planning to apply for citizenship but have scra...
