Re: How can i check if i can leave chile or not?

The female PDI officer gave me a hard time when I reentered with my expired carnet. Asked for my PD certificate, which after digging around and producing a 600 dpi copy of doc said that I needed both back and front for a valid copy  Of course, I later found out that all was BS. Just another th...

Not all Venezuelans are legal and hard working or grateful.

Re: rising anti-immigration politics in the Chilean Election

It is a mixed bag, many Chileans may resent immigrants and especially may vent if they know the conversation will not be leaked (my Chilean wife and I have heard them) but then in the street, they will be very courteous towards them and even buy from that foreigner street vendor or gift them somethi...

But it is these "professionals" who probably had free uni that are lowering or capping the wages of young Chilean professionals in a city of ever rising costs that is Santiasco. So it is not only the Chilean lower class that is being affected by immigration but the middle sector also. With a govern...

Re: Housing market situation

And there are always black swans that could cause massive death like the Black Death/Dark Age times where the survivors made themselves at home in many a dead nobleman's estate :alien: Land and wealth redistribution via mother (or supra) nature vs. human commies and socialists.

Re: USA Citizen Married To a Chilean Wanting to Move to Chile

Devil's advocate: but what good is a "marriage" visa if your marriage is not recognized in Chile? ...Si el matrimonio se realizó fuera de Chile, presentar certificado de matrimonio debidamente apostillado o debidamente legalizado por el Consulado Chileno en el país en que éste se contrajo y por el M...

The easiest solution to your immigration issue would be to get an appointment with a Registro Civil of your choice and get remarried and then continue with the process.
And there is a waiting list for that too that could be months depending on which RC location.

Re: USA Citizen Married To a Chilean Wanting to Move to Chile

As I said earlier it is:

VISA TEMPORARIA PARA EXTRANJEROS CON VÍNCULO CON CHILENO

which for most adult foreign titulares means conyuge, IOW marriage.

Re: USA Citizen Married To a Chilean Wanting to Move to Chile

The visa just says visa titular and the consulate didn't really give us any other information other than two pieces of paper with my information that I have to give to the PDI. So yes you are the titular of some kind of Visa Temporaria which you will find out what type when you get to Chile but if ...

I just figured out their new structure. Until they fix their home page, all the temporary visa links are here:

Re: USA Citizen Married To a Chilean Wanting to Move to Chile

eeuunikkeiexpat is the titular visa the same visa someone married and applying in Chile would get? This is the problem I see here. What does your visa say? Extranjería specifically has a VISA TEMPORARIA PARA EXTRANJEROS CON VÍNCULO CON CHILENO. What other info did the consulate pass to you? Somethi...
