Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Thanks for the heads up on that. I had a few things I wanted to buy, but was debating in part due to the shipping costs. I decided to give the free shipping a try. Supposedly the order should arrive on May 28th.

Re: Prepaid mastercard in Chile

Did you get a card to do transfers when you opened your CuentaRUT? I think it is standard to receive it. It's a plastic card with a grid of different numbers. The transfers section of the BancoEstado website will ask you for those numbers to make a transfer, such as the number that corresponds to sq...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

there is quite a difference between just having the virus and being on ICU The problem is the misuse of the word "case". That word in the medical world had always been used as a synonym for "patient', somebody who is sick, but it started being used for anybody who had tested positive in a test, or ...

My husband knows one of the fiscales (Patricio Rosas) involved in this. He went to law school with his wife.

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

yea, they are going to move much of santiago in to phase two this week, but frutillar no. even though our cases per km density is microscopic compared to all of santiago. there are buildings in santiago probably with more cases than we have. yet, llanquille and puerto varas, are being moved to phas...

Piñata is creating a pressure cooker that is going to explode at some point. I don't even think he realizes it, though. He seems to think everything is great and his bonos are the best ever!

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I was told to come back 28 days later for my 2nd Pfizer. Looking at the CDC page the recommended interval is 21 days. Maybe it's because of when they are expecting new shipments. I'm now wondering. On the same page it recommends if you can't get the second dose on day 21, it should be within 42 days...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Uruguay, that sure shows what happens when you have a country led by Bolsonaro as your next door neighbor. I have a friend there and last year her life was relatively normal because the infection rates were really low. Then the Brazilian variant arrived. . . They are vaccinating pretty quickly, at l...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Well, I went to the Centro Cultural here today. Sinovac was reserved for second doses so I was given Pfizer. It was pretty crowded. I got there at 8:30 AM and there were two lines, one for second doses and one for first. They started letting people in at 9. For the first doses, they weren't sure wha...
