Re: Fresh milk and farmers cheese

There are about 3 spots in Valpo, all near the central market. Two near the corner, where the red building of the CENCOSAL store is. One on the Uruguay street, near the new Carnicero shop. But the vendors have stock VERY irregularly. And to go further off topic (re. selling on the streets). My best ...

Re: butter in general. They recently started to sell in the streets (here in Valpo), for 1.200, and sometimes for 1.000 only, the ones that sell at around 1.490 in the nearby "Del Rio" chain. Like Kumey and Santa Sara (these brands are owned by La Vaquita now, if memory serves). Though they sell ver...

Re: Fresh milk and farmers cheese

And if you check the etiqueta, both Lider and Tottus brand butters comes from Surlat. Yeah, I know, and Jumbo butter, too, I think. That's why I was surprised to see Soprole butter consistently priced lower than the supermarkets' proprietary brands. I thought Soprole is dumping to increase their ma...

Irradiation creates free electrons which kill bacteria. Would irradiated food affect your gut flora?
Yes, but how do we go about enlightening the researchers regarding this?.. I only was going to say that one can do little to stop the "progress" or reverse the way things tend to unfold.

Re: Fresh milk and farmers cheese

They won´t be giving too much away this early otherwise someone will try to copy it. It has to be commercialised and the milk put into the export market. That appears to be its primary purpose, to enable the export of fresh milk by sea as against expensive air freight. I hope it's not irradiated or...

Re: Bamboo Flutes

I have no longer access to the material (imported bamboo without inter-nodes), and have sold almost everything. From the listed flutes in this topic, this one is still available: 001.jpg I can sell it for 20 mil to anyone visiting Vina-Valpo area. With respect to the other types, please note that th...

... the number of petals was more than it had to be (like, 7, 8, or 9, where there must be 5 petals exactly)... Now I remember them. The flowers of the wild strawberry plant they were, must be white with five petals exactly. I counted from 6, 7, to 9, more often than 5. It was rural setting, some 6...

Yeah here in the US double-yolked eggs don't make it to the grocery store, but the farmers get plenty of them
Maybe a dumb question, but how would the farmers know if the eggs were double yoked or not with out breaking them open?
The ones by two-headed hens -- they are generally double yoked.

Re: Porotos, and their photos...

This is the time of year where porotos granados are harvested and plentiful. There is no sorting, you have to buy a couple kilos and peel out the beans yourself. Yes, and this varies week to week. One week all vendors seem to sell "straight" and "normal' beans (I mean porotos "granados"), another w...
