Re: Que hora son mi corazon, daylight savings time

Another reason this is important for me. "Home" Automation, it's a Car Park actually. All timed on UTC-3. Sunrise/Sunset times calculated using our local Lat/Long, no CLT or CLST. That way it works throughout the year without having to tweak each switch every time new (and always different) transiti...

Re: Que hora son mi corazon, daylight savings time

The changes to the start date might be called annoying or confusing, but that is a separate issue. If you took the trouble to read properly, you would see that this is precisely the issue I am bitching about. And here is just one of the reasons why: These are instructions for updating a Linux serve...

Re: Que hora son mi corazon, daylight savings time

It is hard to follow what you have written when you keep on changing it. Back to your usual picky-pick, I see. What have I changed, exactly? Anyway this year the official Chile Time page updated smoothly. The Windows Time shown is actually Buenos Aires, UTC-3 . time.jpg . I don't care what TZ they ...

Re: Que hora son mi corazon, daylight savings time

And Chile is complicated??? You seem to be missing my point. Of course big countries that span many degrees of Longitude are going to have a lot of Time Zones, that is neither here nor there. But I bet not one of them has seen the amount of fiddling with DST, no DST and different DST transition dat...

Re: Que hora son mi corazon, daylight savings time

Just to clarify.... . Predicciones.jpg . So their Chile Standard Time UTC-4 forecasts have to be adjusted to compensate for (UTC-4)+1, or CLST, Chile Summer Time, which is the same as UTC-3. Ended DST and Started Again In January 2015, Chile decided to remain on DST permanently. However, only...

Re: Housing market situation

Not only Chile, it´s no better in Australia where many politicians got there via the party machine after being active in university politics and are eventually parachuted into a safe seat I think that most of the "developed" world has gone that way (sighs) and people are getting fed up with it. Hen...

Re: Housing market situation

I had good chuckle the other day. some executive in an interview said something like, "we should not be letting a bunch of kids that went from the university direct to Congress, and never held a job in either the public or private sector, make major economic or buisness decisions". referring to the...

Re: Housing market situation

Small stores still do a lot of cash transactions. And there are still plenty other ways to steal even with plastic. Undercharging is just one. Chilean negocios don't spend money on extra personnel just because "it's always been done that way"

Re: Housing market situation

There is no law that designates who handles customer cash in a shop, purchasing is compartmentalized to prevent fraud and theft. Even that's not foolproof as employees will ponerse de acuerdo given the opportunity. The fact that this system is so widespread in smaller shops gives an idea of the exte...

Re: Chile Wealth, Inequality, and International rankings

hummm, wild dogs attacking cattle. yea, that problem is only about 50,000 years old. The Chilean solution: Enfatizó que el afectado no puede maltratar o llegar a quitarle la vida al perro que atacó . "Cuando sucede eso, se inician otra investigación, por el maltrato del perro. Lo más probable es qu...

Re: Chile Wealth, Inequality, and International rankings

I´ve been told by a couple of people something nobody likes to talk about, but in the early 1980´s things were so grim the street dogs disappeared. There´s no way to put it delicately, they were eaten. They were referring specifically to Valdivia. True or not I don´t know but it´s not mentioned in ...
