Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

My shipping observations so far: 1. Chilexpress is a clear winner for me, I get most packages in 8-10 days (weekends included) and they have the best tracking, down to where their truck is on the day of the delivery. The end-to-end experience (price + selection + convenience + net speed) beats Chile...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Waiting on the others. So far so good. Has anyone had any experience trying to bring over the counter medicines in by Amazon? I want some Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) for my allergies which for some reason is not available here in Chile. I can get it through Amazon, but don't want another Seremi nigh...

These policies are completely retarded, the virus has been widespread in the local population for months. It's trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube when you've already emptied half of it.

Re: Chile Pipe thread standards

I don't know anything about plumbing but I know I'm fed up with the crap or overpriced faucets sold in Chile, so I'm thinking of getting one from Amazon. There's a couple touch models with pull down sprayers that look to be good bang for the buck. They come with 3/8 compression fittings, presumably ...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Will be interesting to see what I get, how I get it, and with how much headache (if the packages come to the door, or if I have to collect at some central location). I'm closing in on 100 orders in the past month as I had a huge backlog of stuff I wanted to buy, and it remains too uncertain when I'...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

most of the stuff you can at the same price or less at ALI EXPRESS, importacion iva FREE, also above 100$ purchases in my experiences... so as for now, if i can get it on Ali express ill go with that. Correct, Amazon won't lie about item value but many sellers on Aliexpress have no qualms doing so....

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Juxtapose this with an order I wanted to place for a "mattress in a box" from a major retailer in Santiago. For a mattress ,which they have in stock, the estimated delivery date is 1 september 2021. That is 90 days to ship a package from Santiago Chile to Puerto Aysen Chile. I assume the shipping f...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

It is clearly a full court press by the aduanas. The last time I passed through customs at SCL the aduanas attempted to confiscate all of my medications both prescribed and over the counter. They advised me that I would have to obtain prescriptions for the meds and then they would release them. Mea...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

I just got a notification from DHL that I had to fill in some forms with the ISPCH government agency to import $24 worth of eye drops for dry eyes. The form includes compulsory fields about a prescribing MD. In other words you can't import the most basic over-the-counter stuff without a prescription!

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

I ordered a couple shirts on May 14, they were shipped from the warehouse on May 17, delivered in Concon on May 25th. Meanwhile I have three orders with three different Chilean retailers that are going to take 3 to 4 weeks to be delivered for items supposedly in stock at the time of purchase. There'...

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Envelope-sized order placed on May 4 was delivered today May 17 in Concon by Chilexpress, delivered status was updated on Amazon.com within the hour. This free shipping thing is a game changer, at least until they rewrite the constitution to protect Chileans from evil foreign Kapitalists.

Re: Amazon now offers free shipping to Chile

Believe it or not, some household supplies such as Scotch Brite sponges or Cascade dishwasher pods are available via free shipping, and because they're sold in large bundles (e.g. 9 sponges vs. 4 in Chile), the net delivered price per unit ends up being cheaper than buying from Chilean retailers. Yo...
