It seems as if many people have little understanding of Chile's history or politics or culture. I will just add a few thoughts to ponder....El Mercurio famously took millions of dollars from the CIA (check the US Freedom of Information) in exchange for printing propaganda. I'm guessing it is much easier than 25-30 years ago. Chile is quite computerized and it's easy to check their system.

Part of the Obama visit was a discussion that would include Chile as one of the "visa waiver" countries. I'm not sure when that might take place but it is apparently in the works.

As I understand it. En the 1800s as Americans were crossing into Mexico to settle in the Texas area. Many of them were dressed in green.
