Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

the debate on the "green card" and "green passport", https://www.emol.com/noticias/Nacional/2021/05/08/1020228/carnet-verde-voluntariedad-vacunas-salud.html which mostly hinges on the discrimination aspects. It really boils down to what it would be needed for. A yellow fever vaccination card is sti...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Because of my age I got the Sinovac in February, so early on. The second dose was exactly 28 days later. I don't know anyone who was given a second dose at 14 days. Perhaps this happened in other countries?

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I had a newsletter from the Irish foreign office about travel, primarily aimed at Chile, Perú, Ecuador (same ambassador for the three). They have virtually the same quarantine set up as here for arrivals: 14 days quarantine, test on day 10. The interesting bit is this: "There are now exemptions in p...

Re: "el agent topo" goes to the oscars.

The Mole Agent is a documentary but a new form of one. The detective was a real detective and there are no actors mixed in to the film. The original idea was dropped as they discovered a much more interesting story to tell. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2020/sep/01/mole-agent-most-unusual-docume...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

waiting for my second shot. the waiting room has about 4 people vs. being full last time. they have definitely slowed down the first shots, or this room would be full. I was wondering if you have found any stats for the percent of the eligible population who go for the winter flu shot every year? A...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

If we are looking at 70% of cases in the 20 to 59 age group, these would all be people who, presumably, have not had both doses of the vaccine. It would be useful to see if the roughly 30% remaining have had it, or at least had one dose. It would seem from this that the vaccine is helping. Or am I m...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

When they called the first group for vaccination, the 100 yrs old or older, I thought that would be a waste of a day. To my surprise there were 116 of them in my municipal area! So the vaccination by age keeps things orderly but it is also holding back the speed of vaccination in some areas. Now tha...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I remember a epidemiologist last year saying something to the effect, "the reason covid is so bad is because it is not horrifying enophe". It is not a hemoragic fever. It us not like polio where children are walking around with metal braces on their legs, or people are confined to iron lungs, etc. ...

Hmm...is there an official list of eligible conditions?

I think that if you have one of the conditions you would know. A neighbour with cancer and receiving chemotherapy got the Pfizer.
