FONASA Help

My situation: -I am an independent worker who issues boletas every month. - I earn more than the minimum wage. - My monthly income can vary. - I do not have an AFP. - I was at one point earning less than the Chilean minimum wage and I was paying the minimum (around $22,000) each month. (I have incom...

Re: Internet in Rural areas

My in laws live in the rural Las Quemas area of Osorno. Does anything know a possible solution so they can access decent internet there? Very poor 3G/4G signal there from all the main providers.

This is why you marry a Chilean instead like I did!

Re: Transferring money

How would one go about getting money from my U.K. account into a Vale Vista for a notary when buying a property. Is it possible to do this via Transferwise? No. You need a bank account. Would a bank account of say, my wife, be OK? I’ve just got a Cuenta Rut which is obviously useless for this kind ...

why are you not applying for permanent residency?
Basically because of pandemic-related time/travel constraints to get required documentation. Thought it might be better to do it next year.

Renewing Temporary Visa

Hello. I’m slowly approaching the expiring date of my temporary visa and I wish to renew it. The only thing is I’m not sure what documentation I need to do this, or whether I need to go through the whole process of applying again. I notice on the Extranjeria website it has information regarding “Pró...

Re: The Chile Economy, Social Crisis and Virus Impact

I've always wondered: why is everyone that is opposed to this or any other neoliberal government a 'commie' and a 'flaite'? would appreciate a serious, respectful and hopefully non cynical response. Basically because people are too lazy to engage in any meaningful discourse so they just resort to c...

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

They could have started by actually trying to regulate the permissions they’d established instead of just creating a vacation one (which I’m sure will be used in a responsible way *rolls eyes*)

Re: immigration backlog / processing speed now (given covid)?

I got married in November ‘19 and my visa wasn’t granted until May ‘20, and that was when the immigration office in Valdivia was still seeing people face-to-face and Valdivia was only getting like 4 cases a day. God knows what the situation is like now. Alextrombone It was seeing 4 cases a day in M...
