Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

Re: coronavirus (COVID-19) in Chile

I live in Concepcion in a rented apartment, working, stuck here since January. I own an apt in Providencia which is still on the books as my principal residence even though my license now has Concepcion. I have a lot of business and financial tramites and personal things that I must do in Santiago ...

Re: The Vote to Write a New Constution for Chile

The right have been warning about “Chilezuela” for like 30 years, this is not a new concept. I believe like 95% of the people elected to draft Venezuela’s constitution were members of MVR. In Chile there will be (hopefully) a far more diverse assembly. Also, Chile lacks a character like Chavez who p...

Re: Let us write a constitution for Chile.

Re: What I'm looking for in a retirement home in Chile (request for advice)

I live in Valdivia, Los Ríos Region. That could be an option. It’s around 12 hours in a bus south from Santiago. It’s got a population of around 100K and it’s about half an hour drive from the beach. There’s plenty of surrounding countryside and woodland (although I’m not particular familiar with th...

Re: Chilean Spanish? What do you think of it?

Chilean Spanish is often considered almost like a completely different language due to their use of various slang words and pronunciation. I’ve also heard it described as “the worst” of all the Spanishes. To speak and to listen to. I studied European Spanish at university and have a Chilean wife and...
