Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

Haha what a thread. A textbook example of the White Savior complex. yea, i have let the thread stand because it was mildly amusing. always fun to watch people declare their anti-racist, Anti-imperilist , anti-whatever as they jump head first in to doing exactly what they say they are trying to stop...

Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

well first, that is not how techos primarily works. most of their money is localy sourced from chileans and chilean companies. most the labor is local volunteers (mostly highschool and university students, local community members, etc). they build low cost emergency type houses, and they also build...

Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

Interesting thread, philanthopy "starting" in Chile. It's been happening in Chile for years and being done by Chileans. For example my stepson for the last 3 plus years has worked for a group of philanthropic Santiago architects who fund parks, playgrounds and community gardens in poor areas in the...

Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

I just looked into TECHO and found this written about it on the internet: -------------------------- Hi Diego: I am interested in what Techo is doing, but I have issues with your approach.  Why would wealthier Americans think that by spending a couple of days with a family in an underdeveloped part ...

Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

You know my first thought about this thread was, 'let them be, someone will take their money'. Then I realized it was me. On behalf of the shareholders of Sodimac, I thank you for your donation. Just in case you are not able to reinvent the wheel (or the house), you might want to do some home...

Re: Philanthropy Starting In Chile

Sorry, I didn't see your question earlier. What have you done for Chileans is my question. Is God involved? God is always involved, but my philanthropy does not follow a religion. Religion is not what we practice. Does that answer your question? I think that people in southern Chile have home insula...

Re: RUT Number

---- glad I was celebrating Xmas with my Chilean family than following the pudrida mierda that was dumped on this "expat" forum, it does remind me of an El Puelche joke though, carry on... Why do you think expats are unpopular in Chile? Why do you think they get no respect? You have to give respect...
