I forgot to add one more thing, if you want to invest in real estate in Chile you don't really need to buy a property, there are investment funds available. Good deals out there if you have the cash, also look for bonds, yesterday they lost almost 12% after the "wizard" of Felices & Forrados told people to switch from Fondo E to Fondo A, pure panic, no change in underlying conditions...

Very good point, the 30% drop is a loss in profitability and not necessarily a 30% drop in property prices.
